How Deadpool & Wolverine s R-Rated Trailer Leaves PG-13 MCU In The Dust

Fans of Deadpool and Wolverine got a taste of an R-rated Marvel Cinematic Universe movie on Monday, thanks to a new red band trailer that left more than 30 MCU PG-13 films in its filthy but humorous wake.

The Deadpool & Wolverine teaser video, which debuted as a Super Bowl promo on February 12, hinted at what Walt Disney Pictures, the owner of Deadpool studio 20th Century Films, could anticipate from star Ryan Reynolds' provocative superhero world. Deadpool & Wolverine, Disney's only MCU film this year, is due to hit theatres on July 26.

The Deadpool & Wolverine trailer marked a departure from the PG-13 MCU, with Reynolds' Wade Wilson/Deadpool stating, "Your little cinematic universe is about to change forever..." I am the Messiah.

The preview also included two somewhat muted F-bombs and two slightly hidden photos of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine/Logan. In the new official trailer, Wolverine and a half-dozen F-bombs are seen and heard in all their grandeur.

The first F-bomb thrown by a barman to Wolverine in the new Deadpool & Wolverine trailer takes only six seconds and Deadpool and Wolverine happily reference the other five.
